The whole solution in a nutshell

Industry Professional Chamber / Professional Organization
Technology Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Opium platform
Result: Secure digital elections and hybrid voting

The Slovak Bar Association (SAK) needed to ensure reliable, secure, and transparent elections and voting during the 2025 Advocates' Conference – for both physically present participants and those joining online.

The goal was to create a solution that could handle high demands for the identity, anonymity, and trustworthiness of the process, while also being easy to use without the need for installing additional applications.

Facts in numbers

Users: more than 7,000 lawyers

Model hybrid (in-person + online)

Authentication: process-controlled two-factor

Platform Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online / Blockchain

Results: available in real-time

Solution

Before SAK, we set up a complete digital election and voting system, from secure login and anonymous voting to automatic result evaluation. We secured voting through an online portal and our on-site hardware kiosks.

The solution allowed for:

  • individual verification of each voter's identity,
  • anonymous voting in bodies from online or from kiosks,
  • anonymous voting on regulations via an app or voting devices,
  • the same comfort for online and in-person participants,
  • immediate availability of results without manual processing.

Technology

The entire solution is built on SharePoint Online as part of Microsoft 365, which ensures identity, process, and data management. The advantage is that the system doesn't remain a one-off solution, but can also be further used for internal decision-making or voting within the chamber.

Result

Digital elections for the Slovak Bar Association proceeded without outages or technical problems, with a high level of security and transparency in a hybrid format accessible to lawyers from anywhere.

The project confirmed that even sensitive and formal processes in professional chambers can be implemented digitally, simply, and reliably, provided the technology is properly designed.
